The Safety-Critical Avionics Systems Branch provides valuable research in the following areas: Design Integrity, Design and Assessment, Vehicle Health Management, Software Certification, Terrain Data Base Integrity Monitoring, and Structurally Integrated Avionics. Areas of research include High Performance Computing Systems Architectures and Complex Systems Management Methodology.

The Safety-Critical Avionics Systems Branch conducts theoretical and experimental research and technology innovation in behaviorally complex, real-time embedded computing systems for high performance aerospace applications. Research products are evaluated via analysis, simulation, ground-based and flight experiments.
